Bon Jovi - When We Were Beautiful - a fan's dream come true!

The band Bon Jovi is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and when most other bands would be thinking of hanging up their guitars, keyboards and drumsticks and taking it easy, these four guys are preparing to set out on a world-wide, multi-media blitz. In addition to a Showtime documentary and a new album, “The Circle,” a gorgeous, coffee-table sized book, “Bon Jovi – When We Were Beautiful,” the first official Bon Jovi book, has been released.

And what a spectacular book it is! Filled with exclusive photographs by famed photographer Phil Griffin, this book is truly a visual treat for fans of Bon Jovi and admirers of rock history alike. Griffin joined the band on their record-breaking 2008 “Lost Highway” tour and has captured the band in some of their most intimate moments as well as when they were doing what they love best, performing their music for their fans. There are also photos from the band’s past when they were a struggling rock band from Sayreville, New Jersey up until they became one of the most beloved bands in the world.

And what a wild ride it has been. Since the release of their first album in 1984, and with Jon Bon Jovi as the front man, Richie Sambora on guitar, David Bryan on keyboards and Tico Torres on drums, Bon Jovi has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide over the past twenty-five years. Their “Lost Highway” tour was named the number one tour in the world by Billboard magazine.

But, for the most part, the band has kept their personal lives to themselves. Jon has been known to say the band is like family, and what happens in the family stays in the family. With “When We Were Beautiful,” for the first time, the band has chosen to open up and share stories and personal glimpses into their lives as they reflect on their twenty-five years together.

“We are a real success story,” says Richie Sambora in the section “Band of Brothers. “If people learn our story, they’ll get an insight into how we navigated our way through the music business and through our relationships within this band.”

And the good news for fans is that the band shows no signs of slowing down as they get ready to kick off a worldwide tour on February 19th in Seattle, Washington. Bon Jovi will be appearing at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on April 10th.

“Bon Jovi – When We Were Beautiful” is 192 pages of a particular deliciousness known as Bon Jovi. Fans will bask in its glory as they are allowed access into the lives of their “Boys,” even if just for a bit.
