Saturday Snapshot! WITH UPDATE! Hotter 'N Hell 100 Bicycle Race

I haven't done a Saturday Snapshot in a while, so thought I'd pop in!

My town is the center of the biking world this weekend as the Hotter 'N Hell 100 Mile Bike Race is taking place today!  My 2nd son Clayton is taking part in this race, and for the first time, going to attempt the 100 mile ride!  It's supposed to be 107 today, giving the race true claim to it's name!  Here he is at 5:30 this morning, getting ready to go -

Pretty proud of him!

UPDATE:

Clayton finished the ride!!!  Poor thing, it was 110 degrees out there and they said the pavement heat was around 120-130.  Just brutal - but he did it!  And doesn't seem too worse for wear!

Clayton at the Finish Line!

Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you.

Good for him, it's important to take part in things. We'll be waiting for an update at the end of the ride.

That's amazing. I'm so glad we have cool weather. 78 degrees right now. Clear blue sky.

Oh, that does sound brutal! I can see why he'd want to get out there so early. Congrats to him for finishing (especially in that weather)!

I'm very proud of him - it was brutal out there - 110 on the temp board as we were leaving. I saw so many people being carried into the medical tents - they had a fantastic medical team that took good care of everyone! Wore me out just watching the riders come in! :)
