Book Review - One Night In London: The Truth About The Duke by Caroline Linden - K.I.S.S. and Teal

Today, I wrap up my week-long K.I.S.S. and Teal Week, highlighting romance novels from Avon Books that are participating in the National Ovarian Cancer Awareness campaign, and today's book, "One Night In London: The Truth About The Duke" by Caroline Linden, was just a treat to go out on!

About The Book:

A bargain that was all business … and pure passion.

Neither wealth nor beauty will help Lady Francesca Gordon win custody of her young niece Georgina, saving the girl from a cruel stepmother; she needs London’s top solicitor for that. But when Edward de Lacey, son of the powerful Duke of Durham, hires away the one man who can do the job, Francesca decides Edward himself must champion her case … if only she can melt the dashing lord’s stony heart.

Edward has reason to be guarded, though. London’s tabloids have just exposed a secret that could ruin his entire family. When Francesca offers a unique chance to undo the damage, Edward is forced to agree to a partnership … and now, each moment together feeds the flames of his scandalous longing for the passionate widow. But when Georgina disappears, fate will test them both … and leave their love hanging in the balance.

I really enjoyed this book.  The main characters played off each other's personalities well, and the story moved along at a quick pace that kept the reader's attention.  There is lots of humor in this Regency-era tale, as well as plenty of sexy romance - a perfect pairing in my opinion!

"One Night In London" is the first book in Linden's "The Truth About The Duke" series, and I can't wait for the next installment, "Blame It On Bath," which is scheduled for March, 2012.

Just me again Sharon. I loved the review of this book. I always like some humor and sexy bits when I'm reading a historical romance. I've read a couple of Caroline's books and, have never been disappointed. She never fails to please.

I adore Historical Romance and love to be carried away to another time and place where people lived, laughed, and were finding their way to each other.

So, those tabloids were wreaking havoc even back in the day! Looks like a good read.
