Today, I'm proud to be hosting a book blog tour stop for the book, "Sweeter Than Birdsong," by Rossylyn Elliott.

I found "Sweeter Than Birdsong" to be a compellingly powerful novel. Rosslyn Elliott presents the story of the pre-Civil War sentiments and tensions between abolitionists and pro-slavery proponents in this fascinating, true-life story of two young people who find love in the midst of a political and personal maelstrom.
At first, I was not crazy about the main character of Kate Winter - I found her debilitating shyness to be almost to the point of annoying, but as the story progresses and Kate finds her voice as well as her self-confidence, she redeemed herself by finally standing up for what she believed in her heart to be right.
I highly recommend "Sweeter Than Birdsong" to fans of historical fiction (although it is based on real-life events and people, it is still a work of fiction) and historical romance (there is a lovely romance intertwined throughout the story as well.)
