Five Questions With ... Nelle Davy, author of "The Legacy of Eden" (Plus a giveaway offer!!)

Today, author Nelle Davy stops by to answer a few questions about her writing, her inspirations, and her upcoming projects!

Sharon:      Who is your favorite literary character?

Nelle:  Ooh going to have to cheat and name a few – sorry: Emma Bovary, Matilda Wormwood, Jo March, Jane Eyre, Rebecca, Blanche Dubois…

Sharon:      What inspires you when you’re writing?

Nelle:  A good window and an even better book.

Sharon:      As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Nelle:  This – and only this.  Well once I thought about acting and being a neurosurgeon but they were brief interludes of madness.

Sharon:      Do you have any tips for readers who are looking to become published authors?

Nelle:  Be prepared for rejection and perseverance. Those are the only 2 things guaranteed on the journey to being published. I faced sooo many rejections and I worked in publishing.  It is really tough – but it is worth it.

Sharon:      Are you working on anything else at the moment, and if so can you tell us?

Nelle:  Yes, I have just finished the first draft to my second novel which is set in 1963 Louisiana during the civil rights movement and the friendship between a white child and the black son of her family maid.
