Saturday Snapshot: Book Fair!

The Adult Literacy Council, along with the newspaper, in our town holds an annual book fair each spring, and I went yesterday to peruse the goodies!

I was pretty proud of my restraint and only bought a few, but they were some good ones!

Where The River Ends by Charles Martin
Sima's Undergarments for Women by Elana Stanger-Ross
The Sweet Potato Queen's Book of Love by Jill Conner Brown
Dewey: The Small Town Library Cat Who Touched The World by Vicki Myron
The Last Girls by Lee Smith
Love FInds You In Treasure Island, Florida by Debbie Mayne
Summer Blowout by Claire Cook
Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas

The hardbacks were $1 and the paperbacks were 50 cents.  The money they raise goes to help fund the Literary Council's projects (like teaching adults to read, English as a second language, etc.) and the Newspapers In Education program the newspaper sponsors - putting newspapers in the classrooms for teachers and students to use.  Both worthy causes!

Tomorrow is half-price day - if I can talk Don into going, I may go back and see what's left!

While we were out, we went by the cemetary to take flowers to my dad's grave.  There is a huge flock of Canadian geese that hang out by the pond there, and I happened to catch this couple wandering around!

Hope ya'll are having a fine Saturday as well!

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books. It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link at Alyce's blog. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you.

Some wonderful finds there. Sometimes I wonder if I'll be the last person ever to read Dewey....
