Saturday Snapshot - Michael Martin Murphey concert!

I know it's late on Saturday afternoon, but wanted to join in on the Saturday Snapshot fun before the day was over!

My husband and I were privileged to attend a special concert this week - a solo performance by legendary singer Michael Martin Murphey.  It was incredible - just Michael and his guitar, singing songs, telling stories, and just have a great ol' time!  It was like having him perform in your living room with you and a hundred or so of your friends!

He sang some of his classic songs - "Wildfire," "Carolina In The Pines," and "Geronimo's Cadillac" - and he did quite a few of his cowboy songs.  And it seemed like he sang personally to each and every person in the room.

It was a magical night!

Sharon,

I saw your picture of Michael Martin Murphy and was so excited to hear you had just seen him. I was JUST talking about him to my Son this past week. When I was around 11 years old, He was playing a concert in Tulsa, Ok and afterwards my parents actually invited him over to our house.... GUESS WHAT!??? HE CAME! He sat in our living room and sang and sang and sang. We actually did have a concert with him in our living room! It was truly a magical night! One that I will NEVER EVER FORGET!!

Wow, haven't thought about "Wildfire" in a long time. I was in high school when it was popular. Sounds like a wonderful concert. Great pics too!

It was a lot of fun! My husband has known Michael for about 15 years now and it's always a pleasure to get to see him when he passes through this way!
