Book Blog Tour Stop and Review - "Baroness" by Susan May Warren

Today, I'm happy to host a blog tour stop for author Susan May Warren's new book, "Baroness."

About The Book:

Baroness – Book Two in the Daughters of Fortune series
Lily and Rose, daughters of an empire coming of age in the roaring twenties, can have anything they want ... except freedom.

Expected to marry well and to take the reins of the empire, they have their lives planned out for them. But, Lily, Esme's daughter longs to return home to Montana, to adventure outside the confines of New York City. And Jinx's daughter Rosie dreams of the bright lights of the newly emerging silver screen. But following their dreams - from avant garde France, to Broadway, to the skies in the world of barnstormers and wing-walkers will take all their courage.

And if they find love, will they choose freedom or happily ever after?

Oh, those Roaring Twenties!  Susan May Warren has captured the excitement, drama and fun of this lively age in this intriguing book.  I loved the first book in this "Daughters of Fortune" trilogy, "Heiress," and was anxious to continue the story of the daughters of Esme and Jinx.  Lily and Rose prove to be just as interesting as their mothers, as they charge through life looking for love, adventure and freedom.

Susan does a fabulous job of continuing the family storyline here, and although this is the second book in the series, a first-time reader can easily pick up on what's happened in the past. I love the opening setting of the young girls in Paris, and then was fascinated by the turns their lives took - Lily becoming a "wing walker" in an air-show, and also a pilot and Rose's brush with the gin-joint underworld and the new world of baseball.  And I loved how she added in some of the famous personalities of the day into the story - see if you can figure out who Scott and Hem were!

Susan May Warren is a fabulous storyteller, and I highly recommend her books for anyone looking for a read that will hold your attention (all night long, I might add!) and contains a beautiful message of faith and hope interwoven among the story.

Enjoyed it.
I just finished reading this book. It was enjoyable and I found myself coming back to it frequently to find out what was going to happen next. I always enjoy time travel, and especially the faux pas that people commit while in the experience.
