Book Blog Tour Stop - The Secret Life of A Fool by Andrew Palau

Today I'm hosting a book blog tour stop for the book, "The Secret Life of A Fool: One Man's Raw Journey From Shame To Grace" by Andrew Palau.

About The Book:

He spent his growing-up years living for himself—recklessly rebelling against his evangelist father’s faith, numb to God and to the letters his father wrote him, immersed in the dark side of life. Until one intense night in the Jamaican Blue Mountains that allowed him to see himself in the mirror of grace, changing everything.

The Secret Life of a Fool is Andrew Palau’s unforgettable journey of running from God—and the crushing, freeing experience of coming back to Him. It is a story of getting high, burning up cars, being stranded in Europe, surviving a near-fatal plane crash, and utter despair overcome by simple grace and a father’s love, expressed in excerpted letters throughout this book.

Being a preacher's kid (or a P.K. as some like to say) is not always what it's cracked up to be - I should know, I'm married to one. There is a lot of time that the family must make sacrifices in order for the preacher of the family to do their job, and there is a certain amount of pressure on the family to uphold the preacher's teachings - everyone's always watching.

It was that type of situation that Andrew Palau grew up in as the son of evangalist Luis Palau, and he describes his experiences of rebelling against his upbringing in this fascinating book. But this isn't just a book about some P.K. who went bad - along with his recollections of his wild child days, Palau also describes the glorious day that he found his way back home to God, and to the life he was meant to lead.

"The Secret Life of A Fool" is well-written without being preachy. It is an amazing story of one man's redemption and finding his true calling.

I just read this too. I like that it's not preachy, and not melodramatic either. Nice to read another review.
