Book Review - How To Eat A Cupcake by Meg Donohue

I adore cupcakes! So I was intrigued by the title of Meg Donohue's book "How To Eat A Cupcake." I wasn't disappointed to find it is a lovely and sweet story!

About The Book:

Free-spirited Annie Quintana and sophisticated Julia St. Clair come from two different worlds. Yet, as the daughter of the St. Clairs' housekeeper, Annie grew up in Julia's San Francisco mansion and they forged a bond that only two little girls oblivious to class differences could—until a life-altering betrayal destroyed their friendship.

A decade later, Annie bakes to fill the void left in her heart by her mother's death, and a painful secret jeopardizes Julia's engagement to the man she loves. A chance reunion prompts the unlikely duo to open a cupcakery, but when a mysterious saboteur opens up old wounds, they must finally face the truth about their past or risk losing everything.

I really enjoyed reading this book.  It's a story about friendship lost and recovered, about the power of forgiveness and understanding, and most of all - it's the story of CUPCAKES!

I loved how author Meg Donohue went back and forth between the characters of Julia and Annie - giving both a voice of their own and allowing the reader to see the situation from both points of view.

The only thing I would have loved to have seen included in this book is recipes for some of the wonderfully delicious sounding cupcakes that Annie comes up with throughout the course of the book!

This is a light, fun, and delectable read that will leave you longing for a taste of cake and frosting!
