Book Review - Spring Fever by Mary Kay Andrews

I realize that we are in the middle of summer, but if you want to take a trip to the South in the cool of the spring for a fabulously wonderful good time, then "Spring Fever" by Mary Kay Andrews is your ticket to fun!

About The Book:

Annajane Hudgens truly believes she is over her ex-husband, Mason Bayless. They’ve been divorced for four years, she’s engaged to a new, terrific guy, and she’s ready to leave the small town where she and Mason had so much history.

She is so over Mason that she has absolutely no problem attending his wedding to the beautiful, intelligent, delightful Celia. But when fate intervenes and the wedding is called to a halt as the bride is literally walking down the aisle, Annajane begins to realize that maybe she’s been given a second chance.

Maybe everything happens for a reason. And maybe, just maybe, she wants Mason back. But there are secrets afoot in this small southern town. On the peaceful surface of Hideaway Lake, Annajane discovers that the past is never really gone. Even if there are people determined to keep Annajane from getting what she wants, happiness might be hers for the taking, and the life she once had with Mason in this sleepy lake town might be in her future.

Oh my goodness, ya'll - first of all, I wanted to run out and grab a bottle of Quixie cherry soda after reading this delightful story!  After all, Quixie is the star of this story, as far as I'm concerned!  (unfortunately, Quixie is just a figment of Mary Kay Andrew's imagination, and is not a real product - but I sure wish it was!!!)

Ok, maybe the main characters really are the stars - and they do shine - Annajane (what a great name for a character from the South!) is a fiesty, lively gal and it's just a good time reading about her troubles and triumphs.  And Mason, what a hunk of a leading man, especially after he gets his mind straight!

Mary Kay Andrews captures all the wonderfulness of living in the South in this amazing story - can you tell that I just loved it!  The story moves fast, the characters are great, and you just hate to see the story come to an end.  And to me, that makes great fiction!

I HIGHLY  recommend this novel to anyone who loves Southern fiction, women's fiction, and just plain ol' good time reading!
