Book Review - The Reunion by Dan Walsh

I guess, technically. you could say that my review of "The Reunion" is my first Christmas book review of the year, but this book is so so much more than just a holiday story!

About The Book:

Aaron Miller knows a thing or two about loss. He's lost love. Dignity. Second, and even third, chances. Once honored for his heroism, he now lives in near obscurity, working as a handyman in a humble trailer park.

But God is a master at finding and redeeming the lost things of life. Unbeknownst to Aaron, someone is searching for him.

With deep insight into the human heart, consummate storyteller Dan Walsh gently weaves a tale of a life spent in the shadows but meant for the light. Through tense scenes of war and tender moments of romance, The Reunion will make you believe that everyone can get a second chance at life and love.

Heart-wrenchingly tragic, heart-warmingly charming, and powerful inspirational are just a few of the adjectives that I could think of to describe "The Reunion," by Dan Walsh.

Walsh's story is about a Vietnam-era veteran who finally receives the homecoming he deserves, the people who were desperate to find him, the folks around him that didn't have a clue to his true worth, and the family who didn't know if they wanted to know him or not.  Walsh's skillful storytelling pulls you into the heart of the tale and doesn't let go of your attention or your emotions until the final page.

There aren't many books that make me cry, but "The Reunion" had me sobbing as if I were among those people who finally realizes what a hero really is.

This is a book that I will heartily recommend for anyone who questions faith, who questions a soldier's worth, or who just needs to see a little bit of God's love for His people shining brightly.
