Earlier this week, my husband and I went to see Willie Nelson in concert. Willie always puts on a good show, but at 78 years old, you can sort of see that he is slowing down a little bit! But he played for a solid hour and a half with hardly any breaks or talking, so you gotta hand it to him for that!
Willie and his sister Bobbie (playing piano)
Willie's faithful old guitar, Trigger
Mickey Rapheal - has played harmonica with Willie for over 40 years!
Willie in all his glory!
His long-time drummer, Paul English, was playing with him - doing a drum tag-team thing with his younger brother Billy English. It was cool to see them switch off and never miss a beat from one song to the next!
And Willie's younger sister Bobbie tore the piano up! She is an amazing, old-time, keyboard banging player and she adds just the right sound to brother Willie's songs! She had to be helped to her piano, but once she was there, she owned that baby grand!
You never know who you'll see at a Willie Nelson concert - I saw author Kinky Friedman wandering around the coliseum during the show (you couldn't miss that big ol' cigar he always has in his mouth!) and my husband said he caught a glimpse of actress/comedian Ruth Buzzi (Laugh-In) there as well.
A good time was had by all!

Wow, he's truly a living legend.
I adore Willie Nelson...and I have Always On My Mind as one of my ringtones. Haven't heard his newest one.
Thanks for sharing.
And thanks for visiting my blog.
Willie Nelson has always struck me as a great human being. Never seen him in concert, though.
What a neat opportunity for you!
What fun! Thanks for sharing this experience with us!
What fun! A night out with rollicking music. Here's Mine
How fun! It's so special to see those legendary performers perform their classic songs.
What a concert! His voice is so distinctive.
Sounds like a real fun evening, and what a character he is, still making music at 78! No Snapshot from me this week, but I'm enjoying looking at everyone else's.
That looks like fun. It's been ages since I've been to a live concert.
