Weekend Cooking - Christmas Cookbook Review - The Best of Christmas at Home Cookbook

Tis the season for great food, great smells, and great tastes!  I just love this time of year for all the cookies, cakes, pies, candies, and other goodies that we don't seem to make any other time of year - I wonder why we do that!

One cookbook that I ran across this year is a compliation of some of the simpliest recipes, but ones that will evoke the memories of the holidays!

The fabulous recipes featured in The Best of Christmas at Home will make your holiday get-together a hit. Featuring tasty recipes organized into fun categories, this complete collection is overflowing with great recipe ideas for the entire Christmas season and beyond, plus inspiration and ideas for making this Christmas your best one yet!

I just loved this slender cookbook.  It is full of recipes, page after page, that are either family favorites or will soon be!  From beverages to main dishes, from cookies to cakes, there is something here that everyone will find to their taste!  I look for this cookbook to become a mainstay in my seasonal cookbook rotation!

Here is a recipe from the book that I am making this weekend!

Christmas Tea Mix

1 cup instant tea mix
2 cups of powdered orange drink mix (Tang)
3 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of red cinnamon candies
1/2 teaspon ground cloves
1 envelope of lemonade mix (Kool-Aid)

Mix ingredients and store in airtight container. To prepare one serving, add 1 heaping teaspons to a cup of hot water and enjoy!

I agree -- I've given a similar tea mix as gifts before. Sounds like a terrific seasonal cookbook.
