What if there was one book that could help you do nearly everything in life cheaper, better, or faster?
Make gourmet coffee without the gourmet price. Remove hairspray baked onto a curling iron. Clean just about any stain off of just about any surface. Keep your cat out of your houseplants. Get the best deal on your next car. And thousands of other helpful tips and tricks.
Who doesn't want to know how to do things a little bit easier, a little bit cheaper, and a whole lot faster? Mary Hunt gathers together over 2,000 tips in this volume of ideas and suggestions that are sure to appeal to nearly anyone.
The categories are broken down into sixteen different sections, including automobiles, cleaning, health and beauty, kids and babies, laundry, pets, etc., and the tips are alphabetized for easier access.
I think that my favorite section of the book had to be the one on food and cooking. Here are a few tidbits that I found helpful and interesting:
- To cream butter and sugar together easier, swish around boiling water in the bowl first, dump water and then add butter and sugar.
- Spray your cheese grater with cooking spray to speed up grating and preventing cheese buildup. Makes cleaning the grater easier too!
- To keep your celery crisp, stand it up in a pitcher or jar of cold saltwater and refrigerate.
- Before putting a bag of microwave popcorn in, knead it until all the lumps are broken. All the kernels should pop afterwards.
