CD Review - Smile, Smile, Smile by Cali Rose
Recently I received one of the sweetest cd albums from a sweet lady!
"Smile, Smile, Smile!" by Cali Rose is an album of funny and joyful songs accompanied by the ukulele! And every song on this 13-tune album puts a smile on your face - just like the title song says!
Here's Cali Rose singing the title number -
Each of the other songs are just as fun and happy. I especially enjoyed "Living Aloha," and Cali Rose's rendition of Beethoven's "Ode To Joy."
If you are looking for an album that will chase away the blues and bring rainbows and sunshine into your life, this is the album for you!
About Cali Rose:
Entertainer, musician and comedienne, Cali Rose loves to sing and accompany herself on the piano and ukulele. She's thrilled that people actually pay her to do this!
Cali has been playing the piano since the ripe old age of six and, according to family legend, began singing as soon as she could talk. As a young adult, she took a slight detour from music, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and later working in an emergency room while attending nursing school.
But she soon found her way back to performing and learned her craft in piano bars, so it's safe to say that very little shocks her these days. In recent years she has focused her energies on her one-woman shows, which she performs across Southern California for groups big and small.
Cali is also an award-winning songwriter, with three albums. Her album "Are You Having Any Fun?" featuring her sizzling ukulele playing and singing, was nominated for Best Adult Contemporary Album in the 2009 Hawaii Music Awards. Tunes from her comedy CD, "Cali Rose Gets Goofy," are played on the radio worldwide.
In her shows, Cali deftly combines great vintage and popular songs with comedy, storytelling and audience participation. It's a crazy world. We need all the music and laughter we can get.
