Book Review - Getting Rowdy by Lori Foster

About The Book:

An alpha hero's attraction to the one woman he can't have could draw him into a killer's snare in the sizzling new novel from New York Timesbestselling author Lori Foster

Charismatic bar owner Rowdy Yates isn't the kind of man women say no to. So when he approaches waitress Avery Mullins, he fully expects to get her number. However, the elusive beauty has her reasons for keeping her distance—including a past that might come back to haunt them both.

Avery spends her nights working for tips …and trying to forget the secret Rowdy is determined to unearth. But when history threatens to repeat itself, Avery grows to rely on Rowdy's protective presence. As the sparks between them ignite, she will be forced to choose between the security she's finally found… and the passion she's always wanted.

My Thoughts:

"Getting Rowdy" is the third book in Lori Foster's "Love Undercover" series, and it is as lively and, well, rowdy as the first two books, "Run The Risk" and "Bare It All."

Foster is known for her "alpha male" characters, and Rowdy Yates (yep, named after the Clint Eastwood character on "Rawhide") is a  man's man, but I was also very impressed with her female lead, Avery Mullins - a gal who could hold her own in words and deeds as well as any guy. Rowdy may have the muscle and brawn on his side, but Avery could take him down with just a word or a glance just as easily.

As the third book, there are reappearances of previous characters from the first two novels, but first-time readers will be able to pick up on the back story with ease and enjoy this sensual (definitely adult-rated) story of two wounded souls who find love despite life's odds to keep them apart.

I really enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it to those who love a spicy, intriguing romance.
