Book Review - The Perfect Match by Kristan Higgins

About The Book:

What if the perfect match is a perfect surprise?

Honor Holland has just been unceremoniously rejected by her lifelong crush. And now—a mere three weeks later—Mr. Perfect is engaged to her best friend. But resilient, reliable Honor is going to pick herself up, dust herself off and get back out there… or she would if dating in Manningsport, New York, population 715, wasn't easier said than done.

Charming, handsome British professor Tom Barlow just wants to do right by his unofficial stepson, Charlie, but his visa is about to expire. Now Tom must either get a green card or leave the States—and leave Charlie behind.

In a moment of impulsiveness, Honor agrees to help Tom with a marriage of convenience—and make her ex jealous in the process. But juggling a fiancĂ©, hiding out from her former best friend and managing her job at the family vineyard isn't easy. And as sparks start to fly between Honor and Tom, they might discover that their pretend relationship is far too perfect to be anything but true love….

My Thoughts:

"The Perfect Man" is the second book in Kristan Higgin's "Blue Heron" series, and it continues the story of the wine-making Holland family from Manningsport, New York. This time, the story focuses on Honor, the middle daughter, the one who is stable, dependable, and always there for her sisters and brother. It's time for Honor to find love, but the journey to her "happy-ever-after" is a bit bumpy - ok, a lot bumpy!

Kristan Higgins is well known for her sexy, funny romances, and "The Perfect Match" is a "perfect" example of her style and storytelling mastery.  This book was an absolute delight to read - I found myself giggling the entire time I was reading it - the snippy and sassy remarks from Honor's "the clock's ticking eggs" are just hilarious!  But this is also a heartwarming story as well as the characters work through their various romantic ups and downs.

And the "show-stealer" of this book has to be the adorable, but feisty Spike, Honor's little rescue dog!  I want to steal this dog away!!!

If you like family-themed romances with plenty of humor and plenty of love, then this is the book for you!

While it's easy to pick up on the back story of the Holland family with "The Perfect Match," do yourself a favor and pick up the first book, "The Best Man."  You'll be glad you did!
