My Thoughts:

I have been a fan of "Days of Our Lives" since I was a little girl, watching the soap opera faithfully with my grandmother every day. Ask me how Julie and Hope are related, I can tell you; ask me why Lucas Roberts is suddenly a Horton, I know why!; ask me if I remember when the Dimeras came to Salem, yep, I was there the day Stefano first appeared.  I adore the show, and try to watch at least a bit of it, if not all of it, every day.

What I like about Days of Our Lives is that it is a unique type of show that gives the viewers the feeling of being a part of a community, an almost family-like relationship with the characters who have been through ups and downs for nearly 50 years. So when I learned of a new book, "Days of Our Lives: Better Living," which would feature favorite stars from the show and their tips and advice for a more balanced, healthy lifestyle, I was thrilled, and with good reason.

This coffee-table sized, glossy, gorgeous book is filled with beautiful photos, wonderful insights into the stars of the show, and tons of great advice, tips, and recipes from the actors and actresses themselves.  From Deidre Hall's recipe for Red Pepper Soup to Kate Mansi's tips for staying in shape to Allison Sweeney and Susan Seaforth Hayes' fashion advice, this book is a true gem from the first page to the last. The book truly gives new insight into the lives of the men and women who populate the good town of Salem in television fiction, and into the lives of the folks who give those characters life.

Fans of the soap opera will absolutely love this book but it isn't just for fans. Anyone looking for ways to live a more healthy, balanced, creative life will find the tips and advice featured here to be good ones to cover over into everyday living.

(Plus, the book is worth every penny for the centerfold of actor James "E.J. Dimera" Scott alone - swoon, thud! He is one good looking man!)
