Five Questions With ... Best-Selling author Jackie Collins! Plus a review of "Confessions of a Wild Child"

I am beyond thrilled to welcome best-selling author Jackie Collins to my blog today!

Ms. Collins has graciously taken time to answer a few questions about her writing and upcoming projects.

At what age did you know that you wanted to be a writer?

Jackie:  I started writing when I was 8 years old.  And I knew that’s what I would always do.

Who are some of your favorite authors? Who inspires you?

Jackie:  I was inspired by English children’s author Enid Blyton.  What an imagination!  Then I discovered Harold Robbins and Mickey Spillane.  Currently I love Mario Puzo and Harlan Coben.

What do you have coming up in the future?

Jackie:  “CONFESSIONS OF A WILD CHILD” is out now, soon to be followed in April by “THE LUCKY SANTANGELO COOKBOOK” …and I am currently writing “THE SANTANGELOS."

What advice would you have for anyone wanting to break into the writing biz today?

Jackie:  Stop talking about it and start writing!

What is one fun thing about you that not everyone knows?

Jackie:  I am a chocoholic and a T.V. addict!

My thanks to Ms. Collins for taking time out of her busy schedule to answer these questions!

Be sure to check out Jackie's latest book, "Confessions of a Wild Child: Lucky: The Early Years.

About The Book:

Lucky Santangelo. A fifteen-year-old wild child ready to discover life, love and independence. Daughter of the notorious Gino, Lucky discovers her mother's murdered body floating in the family swimming pool at the tender age of four. Since then Gino has kept her protected from life closeted in their Bel Air mansion.

But in Jackie Collins' Confessions of a Wild Child, Lucky finally breaks free, and running away from boarding school the adventures begin. Boys, sex, drugs and rock n' roll - Lucky explores it all in preparation for the strong, kick-ass woman she eventually becomes. Delve into the world that Lucky rules!

My Thoughts:

This is a lively, fast-paced look at the formative years of one of contemporary literature's most fascinating characters, Lucky Santangelo.

Fans of Jackie Collins' series of books featuring Lucky will enjoy getting to know the "wild child" side of Lucky. At fifteen, this young girl has more adventures (and relationships) than most adults have in a lifetime!  Wildly outrageous, but in keeping with the character profile of the previous, more adult novels, this story is a fun, fast read.

If you've never read of Collin's "Lucky" books, then this would be a great introduction. And if you have read the other books, then this will be a fun look back at the beginnings of the Santangelo reign.

I enjoyed it immensely!
