When The Rogue Returns by Sabrina Jeffries - Book Review

About The Book:

It had been a decade since Victor Cale, first cousin to the Duke of Lyons, had seen his wife. After some royal jewelry went missing from the jeweler's shop where they worked, Isabel Mertens disappeared.

When Victor gets word of a woman who fits his wife's description, he sets out to confront her. But he discovers that nothing is as it seems—and revenge is never as sweet as true love.

My Thoughts:

"When The Rogue Returns" is the second book in Sabrina Jeffries' "The Duke's Men" series and is the story of the newly found cousin Victor Cale and his search for his  missing wife of ten years.  When Victor does find Isabel, they are both shocked to discover they still have feelings for each other, and when they get to the bottom of what happened to keep them apart for so long they team up to put the wrong-doers in their places - but not without a few bumps along the way.

If you haven't read the first book in this series, "What The Duke Desires," have no worries - this story can be read as a stand-alone.  But fans of Sabrina Jeffries knows that her writing to too good to miss a one of her books, so I am recommending going back and picking up the first one to enjoy with this one.

Loved the characters (especially spunky Isabela, who worked hard at her occupation as a jewelry designer), loved the plot with it's intrigue and twists and turns, and loved the Scottish setting. Jeffries' work is always a pleasure to read.

Fair Warning - the intimate scenes are a bit graphic in this novel.

I have the first book and hope to read it in a few weeks (we're escaping the snow for a week!). I'm sure I'll want to read WtRR after that. Thanks for telling us about it, Sharon!

An author I need to try. Off to add the first of the series to my wish list (I can't read a series out of order, drives me nut :)).
