Dancing Shadows, Tramping Hooves by Dianne Ascroft - Book Blog Tour Stop and Review

I am so pleased to introduce you to the writing of Dianne Ascroft, author of Dancing Shadows, Tramping Hooves.

About The Book:

Dancing Shadows, Tramping Hooves is a collection of half a dozen short stories with Irish connections. Tales of outsiders who discover they belong, a humorous slice of life yarn, heartwarming love stories and a tale of taming fear. The shadows are on the wall, in the heart and clouding a woman’s memories while tangible foes tramp through the physical landscape.

The stories were previously printed individually in a variety of publications, including Ireland’s Own magazine, Dead Ink Books’ website, and the anthologies, Fermanagh Miscellany and Tuesdays At Charlie’s.

My Thoughts:

Being a proud Irish descendent, I have a soft spot for stories and books that are set in Ireland. So I was very interested in reading Dianne Ascroft's collection of short stories set in the "Olde Country."

And what a treat this collection is!  This slender volume features six stories - and each one is a gem!  From tales of longing for home, to getting used to the quiet country life, to a mom conquering her fears of the dark, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of the stories.  Ascroft's writing style draws the reader right into the action, and her characters are charming and personable.  And Ascroft captures the beauty and mystery of Ireland perfectly - you can almost smell the peat burning and hear the soft burr of the Irish tongue.

If you are looking for a book that will entertain you in short bursts, then "Dancing Shadows, Tramping Hooves" is an excellent choice.
