Best Books of 2014 - My Top 15 List

Here we are - the last day of 2014!  This year has truly been a year of great books! It was difficult to pick a list of top ten books, so I enlarged it to fifteen of my favorite reads of the year!

I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for us - Happy  New Year, everyone!

Here's my list - in no particular order:

I just love Fannie Flagg's take on Southern culture and this book was a real treat to read!

Anything by Sarah Addison Allen is a must-read in my world! Just magical!

There was a great influx of World War II books this year, and this was one of my favorites.

The story of Robert Louis Stevenson and his wife - a great love story!

Sharon Sala's new series features sassy characters and lively stories!  Love her writing!

I just adore Laura Childs' Tea Shop  Mysteries and this one was a lot of fun!

Barbara Claypole White's emotionally gripping novel was one of the standouts of the year!

I loved this look at the woman who fancied herself as Edgar Allen Poe's true love.

Alice Hoffman captures a magical quality with this story of a "freak show" and the real people who populated one of the most famous.

Susan McBride's series featuring a feisty grandma who solves a small town's crimes is just a joy to read! This is Book One of the series - be sure to check out the others - they are all great!

The fictional story of the woman who wrote the children's classic "Goodnight Moon" - just a wonderful read!

Beth Albright captures a taste of the Deep South with her charming stories of Southern women!

I don't often read fantasy novels, but I'm so glad I discovered C.L. Wilson's series - can't wait for the next one!

A beautiful story of friendship in times of hardship - Rebecca Rasmussen is a brilliant writer!

Jan Karon delighted her fans with the release of a new "Mitford" novel - and it was just delightful!

Great list, Sharon. I loved the Rebecca Rasmussen and Fannie Flagg books and, of course, Lost Lake. I really want to read the Nancy Horan, Sharon Sala, Barbara Claypole White, Sarah Jio, and Beth Albright books. You've grown my wish list :-)
Happy New Year!
